Jean Talon

Born in Châlons-sur.-Marne on January 6th, 1626, he died in Paris on November 24th 1694. Colbert assigned him as the Intendent of Nouvelle-France from 1665 to 1668 and from 1670 to 1672 with the mission of expanding the demography and
the economy of the colony.
In 1671, Jean Talon wasconfered the
title of Baron. Back to France in 1672 he became the King's wardrobe first valet and cabinet secretary, functions he assumed until April 1, 1694.
